Shopping for a new set of truck wheels?
There are plenty of challenges when searching for a set of truck rims. You need to consider style, finish, size and perhaps even construction, depending on your intended use. But perhaps one of the most frustrating aspects is guessing how they’ll actually look on your new truck.
America's Tire is full of tire and wheel experts (we also really love trucks). We’re ready to help you choose the best fitting and best suited truck wheels possible. We even offer you a preview of your new wheels on your truck!
WHAT RIMS FIT MY TRUCK?
The simplest way to find your truck’s wheel size is to consult your owner’s manual. It will have the specifications of the original equipment (OE) wheel. You can also see your wheel’s diameter on your tire’s sidewall.
If you shop on America's Tire’s website, you can add your exact vehicle to your free online account (under My Vehicles) and search for only products that fit your vehicle. You can shop for both tires and wheels without worrying if they’ll fit! You will also be able to make and manage appointments.
According to the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA), the most common LT (truck) tire size is LT265/70R17 for the replacement market. 17 inch wheels are incredibly common on new trucks and SUVs, although 18 and 20 inch rims are more frequently seen in newer models as well.
There are many factors that affect what wheel size you choose as a replacement. You may want to upsize from the original size, change your offset or stance or change the overall look in some way. We explain wheel sizing basics here.
HOW CAN I SEE MY TRUCK WITH RIMS AND TIRES?
You can try on clothes but you can’t try on truck rims.
Well, actually you can with our wheel visualizer.
TRY ON WHEELSOur wheel visualizer makes it easy to see how our stock of truck rims will fit your ride. Simply enter your vehicle into the visualizer, choose your paint color and shop through our available wheels. If a wheel is available in multiple finishes, you’ll be able to select your desired finish for a true preview.
Our wheel visualizer will only display wheels that fit your truck, so you won’t fall in love with something that you can’t buy!
In general, wheel designs have become a lot sportier across wheel categories, including truck rims. Vehicle owners like to show off their high-end brake calipers and bring attention to the whole vehicle from the ground up as opposed to just the vehicle body.
The wheel market has exploded with a larger variety of wheel finishes, expanding beyond your typical silver or chrome to black wheels, bronze wheels, white rims, titanium wheels and more. Depending on your vehicle niche, you may even see purple, red, blue or other more vibrant, non-metallic colors.
Auto manufacturers are also becoming more interested in offering OEM wheel designs that appeal to truck buyers, with a focus on black truck wheels or bronze truck rims (if you’ve ever wondered what are the best color wheels for a white truck, it’s either of these two, in our opinion!)
