Rivian R1S Tire FAQs

The best tires for your R1S fit safely, support the additional weight of its battery pack and meet your unique driving needs. And because your R1S is designed for a range of uses, including off-road adventure, on-road luxury and hypermiling efficiency, there are a lot of tires to choose from. If you plan on going off-road but want to maintain the on-road manners of your R1S, consider the Cooper Discoverer ATP II. With alternating shoulder lugs and a semi-closed tread pattern, this tire will help you go toe to toe with any terrain while staying cozy and efficient on-road. Shop Cooper Discoverer ATP II tires.

Getting your R1S ready for off-road fun? There’s an endless supply of all-terrain tires to choose from, but one of our favorites is the Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT. With a mean tread design and a rugged build, the UltraTerrain AT is ready for any adventure you throw at your EV SUV. Shop Goodyear Wrangler UltraTerrain AT tires.

The Rivian R1S has a range of stock tire sizes, including 275/65R20 tires, 275/55R21 tires and 275/50R22 tires. While the 21’’ and 22’’ rim diameters are 33-inch tires, the tire with the 20’’ rim diameters is a 34-inch tire, making it the likely choice for your off-road pursuits. Whether you’re sticking with your OE tire size, upsizing or even plus sizing to get a more aggressive off-road look, we’ve got the Rivian R1S tires you want for your ride.

While your R1S can rip it up off-road, it’s still an electric vehicle, and that means battery range concerns are paramount. And as you know, your Rivian tires can have a big impact on the miles you get per charge. When battery range is a priority for you, be sure to outfit your R1S with low rolling resistance highway tires. Note that according to some forums, the 21’’ OE tire size may provide the best R1S battery range.
