BMW sells the "economy" X1 model with run-flat tires so they can save the weight of a spare tire and jack for fuel economy reasons. The result is a noisy tire, depending on road surface, and unforgiving over road irregularities such as railroad tracks or even minor potholes! It's my wife's car and she likes the security of run flats, but if it was mine I would get a donut spare and a jack and accept the 0.5% decrease in gas mileage. But the P7 is an excellent tire, Ieaving aside the noise and harshness from the run-flat feature.
