Nokian Tire Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV Studded
Don’t go to battle against winter empty-handed. Equip your SUV or truck with our sure-footed exclusive snow tire, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV Studded.
Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV Studded Features
Engineered in and for the unforgiving winters of Scandinavia, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV Studded proves that you can be steeled to the task of tearing through ice and snow without compromising your vehicle’s handling or comfort on dry winter roads.
Designed to take on the most challenging winter roads, the Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV utilizes Nokian’s Eco Stud 8 concept. This next-generation stud design claws into ice and snow, keeping your vehicle moving forward when other drivers are losing their footing, no matter whether your SUV or truck is AWD, FWD or 4x4.
But don’t think that these studs will take away your comfort (or have a more negative environmental impact either). Nokian’s multi-faceted stud is built with a flange design that reduces stud impact, causing less road damage and increasing your overall comfort while still giving you fierce grip on ice.
And Nokian’s innovative winter-focused traits don’t stop there.
Other performance features of the Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV Studded include:
- 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake Certified, these tires are approved for use in extreme winter conditions, including severe snow and black ice.
- Get confident stopping power thanks to the sawtooth pattern on the back of the tread blocks.
- 3D interlocking sipes add thousands of extra biting edges for grip on ice and snow.
- Responsive steering control in frigid dry road conditions is provided by the solid center rib and the wide shoulder blocks.
- This tire stays incredibly flexible in freezing temps thanks to the Cryo-silane Gen 2 winter rubber mixture.
Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV Studded Treadwear and Warranty
FInely tuned by the team at Nokian, the Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV evenly supports the weight of your light truck or SUV. For additional stability, Nokian reinforced the tire’s sidewalls with aramid fiber. Not only does this support the weight of a larger vehicle, it also helps the Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV resist punctures and sidewall damage. In short, you can rely on the Hakka 8 SUV for optimal winter performance and long-lasting tread life.
If you want additional peace of mind before you hit the road, you can always get the most robust tire coverage there is: our exclusive Certificates. Protect your new Nokian studded snow tires against road hazards, you’re covered all the way down to 3/32’’ of treadwear.
No need to worry about tire damage when you’ve got our Certificates. If your tires can’t be safely repaired, we’ll give you a brand new replacement tire.
(You can add our Certificate coverage in the cart of your order.)
No matter what challenges may lie ahead, you can be sure that winter driving won’t be one of them when you outfit your ride with a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV studded snow tires—exclusive to our website and stores!

I run these tires on all of my vehicles in the winter, especially my teenage daughter's. They are great!

Like all else, the decision to get studded snow tires is a trade-off. For my purposes, the excellent traction (especially stopping) on snow and ice is worth the slight decreased traction on dry or wet pavement, and worth the noise (windows mostly closed in winter anyway).

Tried studless Bridgestone which are much better than A/S but these Nokian studs rock! Much improved from studless in traction and winter weather. Go Hakkapeliitta!

Overall , I would purchase the tire with the knowledge that any studded tire is going to be noisy . You have to decide what best suits your needs based on your climate and weather conditions . To me, driving in mountains with snow and ice , I wanted a studded snow tire for optimal traction . Either optimal traction or noise . Depends on what is more important to you . I can live with the noise knowing I have the best tire on my vehicle. I had a set of non studded snow ties on my wife’s car ( we both have Toyota RAV4) and the difference is noticeable. I would have been stuck going up an icy incline with my wife’s vehicle. No problem with the studded tires.

Have them on two cars, one travels to the mountains several times a week and these tires take the stress our of being in a crowd on icy roads, wish everyone had them on.
