Customer Reviews
Great tire! Very sticky on dry conditions, and don't listen to reviews and comments about wet conditions... FAKENEWS! I was able to still have grip no sliding, no fishtailing, NO ISSUES! Highly recommend if your looking for a sport tire feel with economy and realistic driving conditions. I haven't owned Pilot 4's so I can't compare, but I can assure you if your concern or unaware of these Sport 5, them a try and you wont be disappointed. If it matters I'm located in central Florida, so picture these weather conditions: Hot, Dry, Hot, Humid, and Wet. I tried to leave a good honest review for the next customer because I didn't have one and took a chance. Hopefully this helps, and you wont be disappointed.
So I have the 2023 BRZ which is an awesome car to drive on the twisties of our mountain roads. Although I know that the PS4's that come with the car are not the highest performance tire available, I have been very satisfied for my use. Our roads are mostly lower speed endless really tight turns. A truly great place for the BRZ to live. I think the PS4s are a great compromise of ultimate handling vs liveability and efficiency. I routinely was getting over 30 mpg with this car even though almost every drive I am hammering it through corners. Also, the PS4's have a wonderful feel of balance with the ability to completely feel the nuance of front and rear grip and the interchange between slight understeer and slight oversteer. I can definitely make microadjustments in the middle of an 8-9 tenths corner with complete and utter confidence and understanding of what the tire and car would do. However, the PS4's are an older tire design and they only have a 20,000 mi warranty. With my driving, they went below 4/32's in less than 13000mi. So it was time to get some new tires. I considered others such as the venerable PS4S and the Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02, but decided I would like to try the successor to the PS4's since the PS5's can be had in the OEM size (I like the 215 width since the traction balance makes them very playful) and they now have a 30,000 mi warranty and should match the PS4's overall character. Also, I received a $380 warranty compensation for only getting 12,500 mi on the PS4. Wow.....Thanks Michelin I have had the PS5’s on the car for over 5000 mi now and I can say that they live up to expectations. From my recollection of the performance of the PS4’s that came with the car, I think these PS5’s are every bit as good. Of course part of that is due to the outstandingly good driving characteristics of the 2023 BRZ. I think they are just as quiet and ride just as well as the PS4’s. The only time they become unbearable loud is when I am on one of those poorly paved secondary roads where the aggregate is more oiled rocks than asphalt. The tire roar for that condition can be pretty extreme. But on basically smooth roads the BRZ is about the same loudness as any regular non luxury car. And as before, I can hit some serious road heaves in mid corner while travelling at speed and the tires stay clued to the ground with no skittish sideways skipping. And the tires still have that marvelous quality of being able to minutely manage grip and side slip in the middle of a high G corner with complete confidence. Fantastic. So I get all of the advantages of the old PS4 with 10000 more miles of warranty. Awesome! I am very glad I went this way. Love the PS5s. Highly recommended
