I've only had these for 1 winter season in central Washington mountains, but they've been amazing in my regular commuting between Seattle and our cabin in the mountains. With these on my bmw x3 I have found no situation I couldn't maneuver or eventually get traction in as long as my car had ground clearance. Ride quality and road noise level are great, especially compared to the OEM run flats that came on the car. I am a spirited driver and have found these top tier snow tires to be able to handle most of what I throw at them in all conditions. I cannot comment on life span as I've only driven on them for like 7-8k miles, but tire place didn't make any comments about tread when I just had my winter setup swapped on last week. Overall great tire and excellent for snow and ice. I'll buy these again when it comes time to replace my winter setup.
