Treadwell is a tool that gives the customer an authentic buying experience because it's based on actual real-world test results. Professionally collected customer tire data such as mileage and tire wear is blended with objective and subjective third party testing data to give you the most complete picture possible on each tire's performance.
Treadwell gets smarter the more it is used! The more data submitted by tire manufacturers, store employees and customers alike, the more the algorithm has to generate accurate tire recommendations.
We do all of our driver testing at Treadwell Research Park track in Pearsall, TX and Keweenaw Research Center in Calumet, MI.
Treadwell works in a couple different ways. It combines testing data with customer input (or employee recommendations) into an algorithm. This algorithm then factors the priorities of the customer (such as tire longevity, driving conditions and so on) to pull up the best tires to answer these requirements. Once it understands the customer's priorities, Treadwell evaluates each tire model's pros and cons to rank products in best to worst fit to meet expectations. Treadwell does not consider price, brand, or profit, only the real world performance each tire achieves.
Weather and driving conditions can drastically impact results, and for good reason! The best tire for you will be able to handle your region's weather and driving challenges for year round use. While using Treadwell, you can enter your ZIP code, your vehicle make and model and your preferences to generate personalized tire results
In one day of testing, six different tires are subjected to five different test procedures which include wet and dry stopping, wet handling, highway handling and noise.
