The tires do nothing for the ground clearance of the Mustang, of course...

After years of making due with all season tires that were neither good in the heat of summer nor capable in the cold and ice of winter, I decided to put my money into a proper set of summer and winter tires (also buying an extra set of alloy rims for each). There is no looking back... the Pirelli's on my 2012 Audi A6 Quattro have transformed the car in the winter... there's virtually nothing that this vehicle can't get through. Grip, handling, steering feel and ride are all exceptional and their exceptional performance help me feel good about the investment. In fact, my impression was so positive that I bought a set for my daughter's 2011 VW Golf shortly thereafter.

My 2005 Audi A6 Quattro came standard with Continental all season tires which I was very pleased with. When I traded that vehicle in for a 2012 Audi A6 Quattro with optional 19 rims it came with Pirelli PZero summer tires. I was sufficiently impressed with them that when it came to winter tires I went with Pirelli again (following reviews of Goodyear's, Michelin's, Continental's and Pirelli's). The PZero impressed right from the start particularly after a nasty storm dumped several inches of snow on the roads. In addition to very good grip, the tire's handling characteristics were par with some summer tires which came as a very pleasant surprise. It will be interesting to see what life I get out of these tires as I bought them late in the season and came off relatively early due to a mild winter. After 5,000 miles they barely show any signs of wear and could easily be mistaken for new.
