Yokohama W Drive
Chills and thrills can go hand in hand when you outfit your ride with the right set of tires. You can’t go wrong with a set of Yokohama W Drive winter tires.
Yokohama W Drive Features
At the crossroads of dry performance and winter stability you'll find the Yokohama W Drive. Ready to help you take on winter roads with confidence, WDrive tires are engineered to face down all your winter fears with ease. Snow and ice covered roads don’t have to stop you in your tracks when you roll on the Yokohama W Drive.
Thanks to its winter-ready tread compound, which they’ve imbued with orange oil and silica, the WDrive stays flexible and pliant, even when temperatures cascade below 45 degrees and into subzero weather. Molding that winter compound into an asymmetrical tread pattern, Yokohama designed the W Drive to adapt to a variety of winter conditions, from dry and freezing roads to surfaces coated in ice and snow.
Thanks to Yokohama’s eagle-eye for details, this adaptive winter tread design features 3D triple sipes that interlock for responsive handling while providing thousands of extra biting edges. This is known as the edge effect and it’s one of the ways that these Yokohama winter tires help you stay in control on challenging winter roads, even when they’re blanketed in snow or slicked over in ice.
Other performance features of the W Drive include:
- 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake Rated, this tire is certified for use in extreme winter conditions.
- Responsive handling and controlled cornering on dry winter roads are provided by wide outer shoulder blocks.
- A stable, linear on-road feel is provided by the semi-solid center rib.
- Wide longitudinal grooves and notched lateral grooves clear water and slush from your path, helping ensure that you stay planted on roads no matter the weather.
Treadwear and Warranty
With its meticulously optimized contact patch, the W Drive resists tread block distortion. Additional stability is provided by the interlocking sipes, which work in tandem with the refined contact patch to provide long-lasting winter performance.
But for protection that’s as dependable as your new Yokohama winter tires, you can always invest in our exclusive Certificates. As road hazard coverage, our Certificates will cover your new tires all the way down to 3/32’’ of treadwear.
While it’s unlikely, if your W Drive snow tires are damaged beyond safe repair, we can get you taken care of. We’ll get you back behind the wheel with a brand new replacement tire.
(You can add our Certificate coverage in the cart of your order.)
Winter may be here but you can still be of good cheer when you upgrade your ride with a set of Yokohama W Drive winter tires.

Even with the ding against this tire for getting slippery on wet roads now that approximately half the tread is gone, I would still buy this tire again.

Not a Winter Tire! Only average traction, but a great all season performance tire.

So far I really like them. I've had good all-season tires on my Subaru before and these blow them out of the water. They perform superiorly on roads with new snow and poor plowing.
