Dunlop Sport Maxx RT
For racing style grip and ultra-high performance steering response, the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT fits the bill. This tire delivers rapid handling, reduced weight and excellent performance. Some other features include:
The Dunlop Sport Maxx RT is an ultra-high performance summer tire that is developed for sporty coupes, sports cars and high-performance sedans.
It’s built in 17-21” diameters, making it ideal for a range of vehicles, including Audi A4, Audi A6, Subaru WRX, Mercedes-Benz C63 S AMG, BMW 330i, Volkswagen GTI and more.
This tire is engineered to provide enhanced road feedback and driving precision, giving drivers all they need to dominate at the track or on a weekend thrill ride.
The Sport Maxx RT utilizes adaptive compound tech with polymers derived from the motorsports world, allowing its silica-plus tread to adapt to textures in the road surface to enhance grip and road contact.
The compound is molded into an asymmetric design with large outboard shoulder blocks and a notched intermediate rib, giving excellent dry surface response and cornering control.
Avoid hydroplaning and boost wet traction with a continuous center rib and notched ribs and wide circumferential grooves.
Stay in control with Dunlop’s Multi-Radius-Tread Technology, which distributes the tire’s footprint evenly, for smooth changes from straight to curve vectors.
The Sport Maxx RT gives high-speed durability and ride uniformity via its twin steel belts that are reinforced by Dunlop’s JointLess Band (JLB) spirally wound cord construction.
Some sizes are equipped with Dunlop’s Noise Shield Technology, which uses sound-absorbing foam to reduce cabin noise.
This is a run-flat tire, so you can stay mobile in the event of total air loss, helping you reach a safe location to address your tire issues.

Would buy this tire again for this car. Unfortunately in a year I’ve had 2 flats within 3 days of each other. Every time it was road debris. The guys at Discount Tire were great each time. They were able to fix the flat on the first tire. They replaced the second tire, giving me credit on how much thread was left on the tire.

Great tires overall. After a week of getting having them put on I went to the mountains and it started to snow pretty hard. They cut through about 4-6” of snow pretty well and did t make me feel as though I would ever loose control. Not bad for a summer tire in snow. Daily they handle great, I have no reason to try any other tire at this point. They are worth what you pay.

These are quite possibly the best tires I've ever had on a vehicle. They give me a real sense of security while driving, and the road noise is minimal.

I have had this since 2010 on my Toyota FJ. I have wheeled with them throughout AZ, Moab, and the southwestern Colorado trails. A very good trail and highway tire. Daily driving is mostly highway and it performs well for noise and handling as can be expected from a mud tire on a lifted FJ. On Ice or snow covered roads this tire is very poor as it has limited sipping on the tread. Aired down it has good flex and allows tire to fold over rocks give good traction. I have put big cuts in the tire and it has always brought me home. Discount was great at replacing my trail damaged tires!
