Continental VikingContact 7

If its name makes you think of fierce battles in the unforgiving winter weather, it’s no accident. The Continental VikingContact 7 is engineered to help you power through ice and snow, no matter how tough the weather gets.

Continental VikingContact 7 Features

Designed to take on Nordic winter driving conditions, the Continental VikingContact 7 can help you battle whatever winter brings your way. Backed by decades of renowned German engineering, the Viking Contact 7 makes a secure link between you and the road, even when it’s covered in powder or coated in ice.

Built for dependable performance no matter how cold the weather gets this winter, the VikingContact 7 utilizes canola oil in the tread compound, which helps it stay pliable and grip the road even better when the mercury dips below 45 degrees.

But the advanced winter technology doesn’t stop there!

Featuring an intelligent tread design with 3D interlocking sipes, its tread blocks open up and bite into ice and snow when accelerating and braking. When cornering, the sipes lock together, stabilizing the tread blocks for precise steering control, regardless of the road conditions.

Other performance features of the VikingContact 7 include:

  • Approved for severe winter weather, it’s backed by the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake Rating.
  • Solid linkages and interlocked block bridges help the tread stay rigid without compromising its grooves, allowing for responsive control in dry, wet and slush-covered roads.
  • To create a larger contact patch and increase performance in slush and snow, Grip Edges on the outside tread blocks latch onto road surfaces.
  • Variable-shaped sipes pack snow into the tread pattern, creating snow-on-snow traction.

Continental VikingContact 7 Treadwear and Warranty

Thanks to its intelligent tread pattern designed by the engineers at Continental, the VikingContact 7 has an optimized void-to-tread ratio. In addition to fierce grip on wintry roads, this also provides confident steering and an even weight distribution. Combine that with the added stability of the interlocking sipes and linked tread blocks and you get a capable snow tire that truly resists uneven treadwear.

That equates to many winters of dependable performance from your Continental snow tires.

While the Continental Viking Contact 7 isn’t backed by a mileage warranty, you can keep it protected from hazardous road conditions with our exclusive Certificates.

Covered from the first drive all the way down to 3/32’’ of tread, you can take to the winter roads with absolute confidence. And if they take some damage, we’ve got you covered. We’ll get you set up with a brand new replacement snow tire if your damaged tire can’t be repaired.

(You can add our Certificate coverage in the cart of your order.)

Winter weather may bring challenges, but you can be prepared for it all when you kit up your vehicle with the Continental VikingContact 7.

The continental 7 winter tire is good but I have had the Nokian Hakepelliita snow tires which better but they weren't available when I bought the Continentals.

Grippy on snow. Nice dry road performance for a T rated snow tire. Slightly less lug spacing than some others which can give a bit more float in really wet slush.

I live in Colorado and for the past eight seasons I have been running Blizzaks but after reading to the reviews I decided to try the Continental VickingContact 7 tires. While the performance was slightly better in the snow and ice, the VickingContacts, were the clear winner in dry conditions.

These tires are everything I thought they would be. My wife really like them, she can tell they handle differently and isn’t looking forward to putting our summer tire back on.
