Michelin X-Ice Snow
From the first name in tire safety comes a winter tire designed to help you stop shorter and drive with more confidence in the harshest winter conditions—the Michelin X-Ice Snow.
Michelin X-Ice Snow Tire Features
The Michelin X-Ice Snow is built to deliver powerful traction in frigid weather, so you can take on the unforgiving winter conditions of your region of the country. Engineered with cutting edge technology from one of the world's leading tire manufacturers, the Michelin X-Ice Snow has the stopping power you need to stay safe and the long-lasting tread life so you can take on season after season.
Compared to the competition's leading winter tires, the X-Ice Snow stops up to 8.85 feet shorter on ice thanks to the Ice Snow Michelin Evergrip technologies.
So the next question is, what is Evergrip technology?
Developed through years of research, Michelin's Evergrip technology is a ground-breaking winter tire tread compound that features a rigid polymer-based rubber compound. This new compound provides enhanced grip on both ice and snow for the life of your tire. Thanks to the full depth sipes, and the wear-resistant tread design, you can count on the X-Ice Snow for long-lasting winter traction.
Not just developed for astounding traction in winter weather, the X-Ice Snow also helps you save at the gas pump: Michelin found a way to decrease its rolling resistance by almost 10%. This means you get better gas performance while getting the best winter performance.
Other performance features of the X-Ice Snow include:
- Its 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake Rating certifies it exceeds the Rubber Manufacturer Association's requirements for traction in severe snow and winter weather.
- In slush and slippery mud, this tire is also M+S rated.
- Two types of full-depth interlocking sipes add thousands of extra biting edges and create a claw-like effect on snow and ice.
- Thanks to Michelin's Flex-Ice 2.0™ tread compound, this tire maintains flexibility in the most extreme cold weather conditions, which allows for excellent traction across a wide range of freezing temperatures.
- Improved traction in ice, snow, and slush thanks to its v-shaped tread design, which optimizes the tread pattern to put more biting edges in contact with driving surfaces.
Michelin X-Ice Snow Treadwear and Warranty
Thanks to its wear-resistant tread compound and newly-optimized tread design, the X-Ice Snow lays down serious winter traction without sacrificing its service life. Combined with the unique design of its interlocking 3D sipes, you can expect even wear across the life of your set of X Ice Snow tires.
As a result, Michelin back all available sizes of the X-Ice Snow with a 40,000-mile limited manufacturer's warranty. However, if you want the most robust protection for your new X Ice winter tires, Discount Tire's exclusive Certificates will cover them on down to 3/32” of wear.
Whether the road ahead is below freezing or covered in snow, your new X-Ice Snow winter tires will be covered. And although it's unlikely, if your new Michelin winter tires sustain any damage that we can't repair, we'll provide you with a brand new replacement tire free of charge.
(You can add our Certificate coverage in the cart of your order.)
With winter performance this reliable, you'll practically want the groundhog to see its shadow—so you can get six more weeks of driving on your Michelin X-Ice Snow winter tires.

Q5
Although these tires perform well in snowy conditions, they do not in slushy conditions. I have had other similarly rated tires on my 2018 Audi Q5 that cut through the slush and did really well in the snow, but I will be going back to them next season as my commute takes me through mostly variable conditions now. I have not had the tires gauged for tread wear, but I gave them 3 stars because snow tires never last and there was no option for n/a.

Tires have been fantastic so far in Colorado and Wyoming winter conditions. This is my first set of Michelin winter tires after years of using Blizzak’s on multiple vehicles. So far the winter performance matches or exceeds Blizzak’s. Went with Michelins after no availability of Blizzak’s in stock tire size and rating (did not want to run E rated LT tires which were available). Very happy with purchase. I highly recommend these tires for drivers who want exceptional performance and the ability to stay safe in truly severe winter conditions.

These are excellent winter tires. I live in Minnesota, so winter traction is important. These offer great grip for starting, stopping, and turning on snowy and icy roads, within reasonable expectations, given that studded tires are not legal where I live. The wet/dry traction is quite good, but not the best, though in temps below 50 degrees, these tires have significantly better grip than the all seasons that came on my car. The tires make a bit more noise than my all seasons, and my range is slightly lower than normal, but it seems like less than 10% difference, and some of that is also due to the colder weather while I have had the tires installed. Overall, I would highly recommend these tires for winter driving, if you can't use studs.

Great traction at low temp. Much improved slick road performance over all season tires. Worth it for safety improvement
